MotoGP 3 Races to Xbox

While the original Climax-developed MotoGP arrived on Xbox several months earlier, it was in November, 2002 that Xbox owners truly took notice of the high-quality racing experience that the game offered when it bundled with the original Xbox Live Starter kit. In 2003, MotoGP 2 hit Xbox and Xbox Live, and gamers once again took to their motorcycles online. Fun was had by all. It comes as no surprise then that the third installment, MotoGP: Ultimate Racing Technology 3, is headed to the Xbox in mid-2005.

“I am delighted that we are continuing to work with Climax on a brand like MotoGP,” said Ian Curran, vice president of European Publishing at THQ. “We have had considerable success with MotoGP and MotoGP 2 and our agreement with Climax provides an exciting opportunity to develop a gripping racing game with more real tracks, riders and equipment than ever before–giving gamers and MotoGP fans an ultimate interactive gaming experience.”

“We are so proud and delighted that THQ have once again chosen Climax as their preferred development partner,” added Karl Jeffery, CEO of Climax. “The new game promises to extend the hugely successful MotoGP franchise and set the new gold-standard for the online racing genre.”

We at Xbox Advanced are delighted as well. Delighted that MotoGP 3, the next title in the popular motorcycle racing series, is shaping up to offer plenty of new features for fans of the series. A new (as yet undisclosed) racing mode will be featured in the game, and the graphics are set to be overhauled. Considering the graphical prowess of the first two games in the series, any stab at improvement seems dandy to us.

Xbox Advanced will have more on MotoGP: Ultimate Racing Technology 3 as it becomes available.
