When Nintendo announced the addition of the Virtual Console with their next-generation system back at E3 2005, many were exited about the possibility of catching up on the games of yesteryear. Users would have the possibility of downloading classic titles from the NES, SNES, N64, Sega Genesis, and TurboGrafx-16 eras. Fans of the VC will be pleased to know that there will soon be even more game formats available for download in the near future.
Nintendo of Japan revealed on their official website that Neo-Geo and MSX games will be available for download in Japan later this spring. While details are still a bit sketchy, we can confirm that MSX games will cost 800 Wii points, with Eggy and Aleste being the first two games available. Unfortunately, Neo-Geo pricing has not yet been revealed.
While the update is currently only slated for a Japan release in late spring, we expect the Americas to receive it soon. Stay tuned to AMN Wii for an update.
