New Left 4 Dead Campaign Announced, Free on PC, For-Pay on Xbox

Valve announced today an entire new campaign as DLC for Left 4 Dead. The campaign will include new locations and dialogue and will be free on the PC version but about $7 on Xbox when it releases in September.

The campaign, titled “Crash Course,” will support all modes of Left 4 Dead including a more streamlined version of Versus that is only supposed to take up 30 minutes of your time. The DLC will also add a refill counter for infected in Versus and change item spawn behavior.

For those interested in Left 4 Dead’s plot, “Crash Course” will actually act as a narrative bridge between the “No Mercy” and “Death Toll” campaigns.

This all comes as the beginning of a fulfillment of Valve’s promise to Left 4 Dead fans to continue supporting the first game even after announcing the sequel barely a year after the original’s release which caused backlash against the developer.
