Nintendo DS Specs Leaked?

The one page document, written in Japanese suggests that the DS will:

As predicted already, utilise two processors – an ARM-9 CPU running at 67Mhz and an ARM-7 unit running at 33Mhz. Retail units will have 4Mb of RAM whilst development units will have 8Mb.

Upon closer inspection, the as yet unconfirmed spec, also reveals that the Nintendo DS will have touch screen technology enabled on one of the screens, and will have wireless capabilites using the 802.11 protocol which will allow for data transmission within a range of 50-100 metres.

Screen resolution could be set to 256×192 pixels which is marginally larger than that of the GBA SP which has a resolution of 240x160pixels.

The document also states that the familiar button layout of A, B, L, R, Start, Select will be retained alongside the standard Nintendo D-pad. No word on any analogue controls which is slightly disappointing to say the least.

Finally the document also suggest that the DS will have a powerful 3d graphics system which will allow the system to draw 120,000 polygons per second which represents a fill rate of 30 million pixels per second. What that means in the real world is not yet clear, however it’s an important point as surely the DS will have to support 3 dimensions if it is to compete with the PSP.

Please remember that this leaked document could be a fake and these specs are by no means concrete. However, it’s fair to say that if there are some truths to be found in this list of features, then the DS is certainly shaping up to be an intriguing product which is definitely moving up in my list of anticipated products! asdasdas
