Nintendo DS: Wi-Fi Max Accessory

Datel, a third party developer of interactive entertainment accessories and peripherals has recently announced their intentions to produce an alternative USB Wi-Fi connector for Nintendo DS users. The product is said to function similarly to the already available Nintendo Wi-Fi USB dongle as both require the support of a standard, Windows XP equipped Personal Computer or Laptop to create a wireless network from an existing broadband internet connection.

Features

  • Internet gaming through any internet-enabled PC.
  • No cables necessary – make a wireless connection.
  • Five times faster than standard WiFi.
  • Suppled with software CD and WiFi dongle, and also a USB cable and stand for optimal positioning.
  • Compatible with internet-enabled games such as Mario Kart, Animal Crossing, Tony Hawk’s American Sk8land, Metroid Prime: Hunters and more.

The product is said to be easily equipped, as the plug and play device requires the user to simply connect the USB dongle to a PC with a present internet connection. WiFi MAX operates on the Wireless G standard and is capable of providing an internet connection for a multitude of additional wireless enabled products such as laptops, PDA’s, and other gaming devices.

Datel’s product is set to allow up to five Nintendo DS users to connect to Nintendo’s Wi-Fi Connection at any given time, at speeds greater than traditional wireless routers. The company claims their product is capable of creating a wireless network that is five times faster than traditional devices.

Bundled with the dongle is a standard USB chord and a specially created dongle stand from which users can utilize in order to obtain a greater range for the product. Datel has yet to say where their product will be available, but it is confirmed that the device will retail for $40.00 and will be available shortly. Sadly for Macintosh users, it is unclear if the new USB dongle will support the OSX operating system presently available for Apple computers. The Advanced Media Network has contacted the company for further clarification. Stay tuned!gufm [ldg m fgfdhgdtyhdreheshfjfgh
