Nintendo of America has announced plans to be an exhibitor at this year’s Penny-Arcade Expo 2005 (PAX 2005). The expo takes place near Nintendo’s Redmond, Washington headquarters in Seattle on August 26th, 27th, and 28th. Best of all, unlike E3, PAX 2005 is open to the public.
It is not known what Nintendo plans to exhibit at the event. However, it is speculated (but NOT confirmed) that there could be many items present, including:
In addition, there will probably be playable games for the GBA, GameCube, and DS. Plus, there will be contests and giveaways.
PAX 2005 will be using the entire Meydenbauer Center this year, which features 36,000 square feet of exhibition space, and a theater. There will also BYOC [Bring Your Own Console / Computer] tournaments.
Other companies attending PAX 2005 include Microsoft, Sony, Activision, Ubisoft, and NCSoft.
You can pre-register to attend PAX 2005 by going here. Prices are reasonable, $35 for all three days, $15 for just Saturday, and $12 for Friday or Sunday. If you wait to buy tickets at the door, however, it will be $20 on Saturday and $15 Friday or Sunday. Also, you won’t be able to get a three-day pass, so you’d end up paying $50 for all three days at the door. Plus, if you pre-register, you’ll be able to enter the event an hour early.
