Nintendo Wi-Fi Users Hit 3 Million

In a recent press event in England, Nintendo of UK’s general manager, David Yarnton revealed that individual users of the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection have passed the three million mark worldwide. This bit of news follows up the previous note from the company that over fifty percent of those who purchased Mario Kart DS in its opening week tried the online component of the title.

The Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection has seen a huge boost in usage since the release of the anticipated title, Animal Crossing: Wild World in Japan. The recently released title has stood amongst the top of the region’s sales charts and has sold over 1.5 million copies since its December release.

While speaking at an event to promote the European versions of Electroplankton and the Brain Training titles, Yarnton has also revealed that over one thousand additional hot-spot locations are set to be equipped throughout the United Kingdom. The country already has several thousand locations available in numerous restaurants, train stations, airports, and other public locations.
