No More Heroes Finds a Publisher in Ubisoft

Ubisoft revealed today to IGN that No More Heroes will be coming stateside this February, just two months after the release in Japan.

No More Heroes is being developed by Grasshopper and directed by Suda 51. They previously worked on Killer 7 for the GameCube and PS2, which was one of the most unique titles released last-gen. No More Heroes will have players taking role of Travis Touchdown, a hardcore anime fan who takes it upon himself to murder the top assassin’s in the world.

“With No More Heroes, we wanted to create a game that allows players to be able to jump right in and play,” stated Suda 51. “The Wii allows us to create an open world where movement and gameplay feel very natural.”

Players will control Travis in an open-world environment and use his special beam sword via the Wiimote. Players will be able to kill opponents in gory sequences and beat them down with special grapple attacks. No More Heroes will share the same cel-shaded graphics that made Killer 7 so unique.

Ubisoft also told IGN that the differences in the Japanese and American versions will be nonexistent. Ubisoft stated that all the content in the Japanese version will remain in the American version.
