NPD Releases Next-Gen Hardware Sales

Launching two days after the PS3 in America, the Wii was still able to sell twice as many units in November according to data from an NPD research group. This can be greatly attributed to the PS3’s shortages but is a good sign for Nintendo nonetheless. While both systems are selling out in their respective launches, the Xbox 360 stayed ahead during the month of November with 511,000 units sold.

Things are looking pretty good as each company re-confirms its unit sale objectives. Nintendo is looking to sell four million world wide by this year while Sony stands at its one million for the USA. As for Microsoft, a one year head start has raised their expectations to ten million units. Sony and Nintendo have a lot of catching up to do but it is far too early to tell how each system will fair in the long run.
