Our most anticipated Xbox One and PS4 games of August

Disney Infinity 3.0 – Xbox One, PS4, Wii U, PC, and more

With two installments in the book, Disney is enlisting Star Wars characters into the mix. With 15 separate characters available at launch both separately and in playsets, Disney Infinity 3.0 is ripe with new material. Pre-orders will receive the Toy Box Takeover game for free, which is a $20 separate purchase if you choose not to pre-order and Toy Box Speedway will be available later this year as well. One playset, the Pixar Inside Out movie based one, also changes up the way the gameplay handles as it will be a side scrolling platformer based set opposed to the standard sandbox mode Disney has opted for in the past. Of course, the characters are not usable in cross party playsets, only their own and Toybox. On the other hand, all these new modes and playsets will keep the creative juices flowing for all the creators as well.

Just a reminder these are listed by the date in which they release, and we're really looking forward to all of them. Be sure to play them all as soon as you can, but if there's any you're on the fence about be sure to check out our reviews upon release. After all, who gives ya' the best info like we do..Huh..huh?

Let us know what games you're looking forward to playing this month in the comments below!

Gears of War: Ultimate Edition – Xbox One – August 25th

Microsoft isn't just toting out any old remaster with Gears of War Ultimate Edition with over 90 minutes of new campaign gameplay and Dolby 7.1 surround sound. Also included is 19 multiplayer maps with all dlc including the PC exclusive maps, 17 unlockable Gears of War 3 characters for use in multiplayer, tournament controls, 1080P/60fps and features from Gears of War 3 like enemy spotting. Microsoft cut no corners and included the best features from the series all in one game. Although Horde mode will be absent from the game, there is still more than enough Marcus Fenix to go around until Gears of War 4 launches next year. Also don't forget that the original games are on the way with backwards compatibility this fall.

Until Dawn – PS4 – August 25th

Headlined by Hayden Panetierre, Until Dawn sets eight friends in a log cabin over night on the anniversary of a friend's disappearance.  Of course, none of them have any idea a crazed serial killer is stalking them as prey. We will be able to control all eight of the friends in separate but interconnected moments. It's a fresh, new take on the horror genre where each section of the game will put many choices at your fingertips. They are not time sensitive like Telltale Game choices and you have unlimited time for each one, but choose wisely as whatever you choose not only implicates your current character but your other seven friends as well.

You'll be forced to determine how to escape from your attacker and every choice you make will determine who will survive Until Dawn. It's a gripping new story line in horror and sure to make a splash as a PS4 console exclusive.

Gauntlet Slayer Edition – PS4 – August 11th

Man you couldn't walk into an arcade in the 80's without hearing "Warrior need food badly". -I remember jumping back and forth between Gauntlet and PunchOut! One of the first arcade co-op titles, Gauntlet set the stage and is back with some all new features for the PS4. New items, maps and a to be revealed new game mode is also set to be included in Warner Bros.and Arrowhead Studios' reboot of the franchise. Those who pre-order the game will receive Mordok's screaming hammer and Reaper's Visage Helm for the Warrior. You will be able to play solo or online with up to four players in online multiplayer as you scour dungeons for gold and items. It's sure to bring back memories for those old enough to remember owning fools in the arcade at only 8 years old but…oh wait, that was just me. Everyone else will just have to think of how awesome that is on August 11th. Launch price will be $19.99

Submerged – Xbox One, PS4, PC – August 4th

After entering a sunken city, Miku must figure out how to care for her injured brother and carry him to safety. Using their small fishing boat to traverse the city and climb enormous monuments and sky scrapers, Miku must locates supplies and items in order to survive. All the early footage we've seen so far looks extremely promising along with a compelling storyline and soundtrack. Uppercut Games looks to be providing an amazing, emotional story that is ripe with adventure in Submerged. Not much further information has been revealed, but hey, that's why it's on our list for August as our spidey sense is tingling with anticipation.

Can you believe it's August already? In some ways, with the start of football season and kickoff of EA's annual Madden franchise, August marks the start of the gaming season. So we've put together a llist of games we're GameZone is collectively looking forward to this month. Of course, each of us have our own personal favorites, so take at our favorites and let us know which games you are most looking forward to.

Rare Replay – Xbox One – August 4th

What more can you say about 30 games for $30? Rare is bringing some of their classic titles from original NES games like RC Pro-am to Xbox titles like Banjo Kazooie and the Perfect Dark series. A total of 10K gamerscore is available with the games' original achievements carrying over as well as brand new ones. More games may be added later on as dlc according to Rare and there is no end to where they can go. I mean, how fun will it be to switch from racing a remote control car, to jumping around and fighting toads to oh gee, I don't know, a combat shooter like Perfect Dark? Personally, I'm looking forward to RC Pro-am the most but we'll have to see how things change with the upgrades as the tiles spelling out Nintendo are not included in the game. Rare Replay is sure to take up plenty of time, as well as hard drive space with a total of 60GB, but their will be no shortage of fun involved with the time spent reminiscing over 30 of your favorite games.
