PC Hit Sims 2 Is On It’s Way

Electronic Arts announced through IGN today that they are heavily in the development stage for The Sims 2. The company was quick to note to the user base of the system, that their new title will not be a clone of their previous ventures in the series, and that it will feature real time 3D visuals. In addition, EA has said that the new title will heavily utilize the unique features of the DS. For instance, the user will have the ability to fully customize the world of their character by using the touch screen of the portable. Players will be able to create original artwork and music for their open-ended adventure.

Making further use of the special features of the DS, Electronic Arts plans to allow users to trade their creations wirelessly with other users. The company also told IGN that they are currently discussing the possibility of an online mode for players to exchange their creations with others. The game further differentiates itself from the previous iterations in that the progression of the game will follow through a serious of open ended missions for the player to partake in. Previous versions of The Sims entangled the user in a linear story line contradictory to it’s PC roots. While the game does not have a solid price or release date, EA has said that the game will be available sometime during the Fall of 2005. Stay tuned for more information regarding this intriguing new title for the DS. none
