Penny Arcade’s yearly expo, PAX (Penny Arcade Expo), has always managed to get press for the Omegathon, where a group of randomly selected gamers compete for a massive prize package, with the package rotating every year: for PAX 2004, the prize was every PS2 game while 2005’s prize was every NES game made. Keeping up with that trend, Penny Arcade recently announced the prize for PAX 2006, a brand new 2006 Scion xB in Black Sand Pearl, featuring a flipdown 15″ widescreen monitor, a Premium Xbox 360, 6-speaker sound system with CD/MP3 player, custom taillights and wheels with low-profile tires.
“The first year, the Omegathon champion received every PlayStation 2 game ever made. The next year it was every NES game ever made,” said Robert Khoo of Penny Arcade. “This year, in accordance with the massive growth of PAX, we decided it was time to up the ante.”
The Penny Arcade Expo will take place August 25-27 in Bellevue, Washington.
