The second week of Halo 5: Guardians' ongoing beta introduced us to a new mode called "Breakout."
For those of you not in the beta, we've gone ahead and captured a match, which is basically a round-based version of Slayer. Each Spartan has only one life each round. The first team to win five rounds (by eliminating the other team of Spartans) wins the overall match. It's that simple. Yet, as we prove, it's also incredibly difficult. Or maybe we just suck. I don't know.
Either way, enjoy the footage from Halo 5: Guardians multiplayer beta as we test out this new mode on another new map, Crossfire, which gets its inspiration from competitive paintball fields. When the map was first revealed, 343 made note of how the map combines the cover-based combat of paintball with the verticality of Halo.
After playing a few matches on the map, it definitely grew on me, though I didn't find myself getting any better at the game.
