October kicked my ass and my fingers are begging me for a break after so many games released like Fantasy Life, Styx: Master of Shadows, Lords of the Fallen, Sunset Overdrive, Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition, Bayonetta 2, Shadow of Mordor, Driveclub… My fingers are just getting tired from typing all these games out. Needless to say, October was a busy month for gaming, but it doesn't look like it's going to come to a rest just yet.
November is just as jam packed with big blockbuster titles that will take you to far off fantasy lands, put you in the shoes of a hardened future soldier, or perhaps take you back to the French Revolution as a deadly assassin. Let's take a look at what November has in store for us.
Next week marks the release of Call of Duty's latest installement, Advanced Warfare, and this time, we're going off into the far future, 2054 to be exact. Sledgehammer games take current technology and projects that is used today, and amps it up for some fast paced futuristic combat.
Advanced Warfare stars Kevin Spacey as the main antagonist of the single player campaign, and will undoubtedly take players through tons of locales composed of incredible set pieces. And as always, it will be jampacked with ton of multiplayer features, such as new modes and crazy amount of customization.
I had the pleasure to review Rocksmith 2014 back on the Xbox 360 and PC. It's a fantastic piece of software that can legitimately teach you how to play guitar, from simple lessons, to advanced techniques. And even though I went in already knowing how to play the guitar, I did enjoy playing a ton of popular and classic rock songs that I previously never attempted. Anyone looking to seriously learn how to play the Guitar or Bass should definitely pick this up.
The Wolf Among Us is Telltale’s episodic adventure based on Bill Willingham’s Fables comic book series. The first season, which consists of five episodes, puts you in the role of Bigby Wolf, the sheriff of Fabletown — a rundown area located in modern-day Manhattan which now plays home to relocated fairy tale characters — tasked with solving a murder.
Creed fans have a lot to look forward to with Assassin's Creed Unity, which is now less than two weeks away. For one, it's the first Assassin's Creed game to be a current-gen title only, meaning Xbox One, PS4 and PC. Unity will take players to the French Revolution, where they will step into the shoes of Arno to carry out assassinations. Buildings are to scale, meaning those suffering from vertigo might have a tough time climbing in Unity.
LEGO Batman 3 will feature the largest cast of DC characters to date, and also easily the biggest adventure as well. Batman will team up with various other super heroes and blast off to outer space to stop the evil Brainiac from destroying Earth. To do this, players will have to travel to various Lantern worlds in order to collect the Lanter Rings and stop Brainiac.
FIFA 15’s only true rival, Pro Evolution Soccer 2015 now includes an increased number of players that look and play like their real-life counterparts. Konami has recreated over 1,000 players this year, complete with accurate animations and similar playing styles to real life. Teams will also automatically adopt their real-life game plan, making for an even more accurate simulation.
It's been a long time coming, but Dragon Age: Inquisition is set to be the biggest Dragon Age game to date, taking into account many of the past choices you've made in previous Dragon Age games. To help your transition to the PS4, players can sign up on dragonagekeep.com and set all their choices from previous games so that it can carry over to their new game.
Using the same face and body scanning technology that was used for NBA 2K14, WWE 2K15 ensures that character models look as close to their real-life counterparts as possible. The next-gen version also as an exclusive MyCareer mode which will "take players through the life of a prospective WWE Superstar, allowing them to experience the journey of being a rookie and working toward the ultimate goal of winning the WWE World Heavyweight Championship." The Xbox One version will also be displayed in 1080p and run at 60 frames per second, versus the Xbox 360 version which is displayed at 720p and runs at 30 frames per second.
It was only a matter of time until Los Santos got the next-gen coat of paint. Grand Theft Auto V will be making the jump to the PS4 with enhanced graphics, but all the same amazing gameplay from the last-gen version. Expect some crazy shenanigans in GTA Online as well.
You've spent a crazy vacation fighting for your life in paradise, now take the fight to the fictional mountains of Kyrat. Far Cry 4 will offer the same crazy gameplay as its predecessor, though this time players can team up with their friends and cause chaos cooperatively.
The most creative game on the PS3 will be getting a PS4 port this November. Not only is Sackboy joined by three new characters, all previously made levels on Little Big Planet 2 will be compatible with the new game! That means that day one, players will already have a ton of levels to play and participate in.
