Pre-E3 06: SEGA Set To Rally

As a part of their road to E3 daily countdown, SEGA of America has officially announced the production of SEGA Rally Revo for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 gaming platforms.

Developed by the company’s newly formed studio, SEGA Driving Studio, the forthcoming next-gen game innovative, dynamically deformable terrain along with high-definition graphics and realistic physics properties.

“SEGA RALLY REVO shifts into high gear with revolutionary track deformation technology, skill-demanding gameplay and dazzling graphics on the next-gen systems,” said Scott A. Steinberg, Vice President of Marketing, SEGA of America, Inc. “We’re redefining the genre with SEGA RALLY REVO, using next-gen power to guarantee our place in the winner’s circle.”

Set as a high intensity, bumper-to-bumper racing game, SEGA Rally Revo will include a vehicle selection scheme that drastically affects the overall gameplay experience. For instance, the next-gen title will realistically react to the type of car chosen by the user as it races on a given terrain.

In terms of available racing tracks, SEGA has confirmed that a wide variety of different environments and course structures will be available as well as an assortment of realistic vehicles.

With entirely deformable tracks that alter the racing experience, it is SEGA’s goal to ensure that no two laps are ever the same. To coincide with the realistic racing structure of the game, the developers are implementing a highly complex artificial intelligence scheme that will strongly challenge users.

The game’s single player element requires players to travel the globe’s racing circuits, challenging the world’s best drivers in the process. However, the single player component of the game isn’t the only focal point, as the company is heavily concerned with presenting strong online play and local multiplayer elements.

We’ll have newly available screenshots uploaded shortly for SEGA Rally Revo as well as a full hands on report of the game when E3 kicks off in some eleven days. Stay tuned!
