The President of Enterbrain Inc. makes a bold statement for the upcoming trade show. Plus reports that Nintendo is Japan’s top publisher.
In an interview with Reuters, President Hirokazu Hamamura of Enterbrain which tracks software sales numbers in Japan, revealed what he thought about Nintendo’s new Handheld system.
Hamamura commented that the DS will be “a product unlike anything available right now and it will come with a touch panel”. But what really is an eye opener is what he added to that statement, in that he believes Nintendo will have no less than 30 DS titles to unveil along with the hardware itself come E3. Nintendo of course declined to comment on either of these statements.
Amazingly enough, the main focus of the article was to report that Nintendo remained Japan’s top publisher for the business year ending March 31. Something that Nintendo is no doubt quite pleased over. Nintendo sold 6.5 million software units for theier business year, mainly Pokemon titles, although such party games like Mario Party 5 and Mario Kart: Double Dash were what made the difference in the end.
