PS3 BioShock Downloadable Content Exclusive “Right Now”

Sometimes, the only thing worse than exclusivity is timed exclusivity. And usually, timed exclusivity is worse for those who get a game first, as when it finally does make it to other platforms down the line, they usually get extra stuff added. (Of course, it’s not a universal rule– GTA IV DLC, anyone?) Such is the case with BioShock on PS3.

“Right now we are supporting the PS3 launch. We are really excited to be bringing the BioShock experience to a whole new set of fans. We’ve been concentrating on ways to make this game special. The things that we’ve added, they’re not changing the original experience that the 360 fans and the PC fans got, but are things that compliment nicely that experience.”

When asked if that answer meant no, Miller replied: “The answer is no. Right now this is a PS3 exclusive.” — VideoGamer with 2K Games Senior Producer Melissa Miller

At least “right now” doesn’t seem to rule out the possibility of it coming to the Xbox 360 ever… perhaps when the buzz over the PS3 version dies down? Maybe in conjunction with a Platinum rerelease?

For now, however, Miller is keeping her lips sealed on anything further regarding the DLC, suffice to say to PS3 owners “I think you’ll be happy, I can tell you that much!”
