PS4 game releases for June 2014

It's June — almost time for E3. But while developers and publishers will gather in the next few days to unveil their latest upcoming games, let us not forget about the games that are almost upon us. June doesn't see too many new games for the PlayStation 4, but that's understandable. Tuesday came early this month, so we've already seen some PS4 games released, like Murdered: Souls Suspect. Here's what PS4 owners can expect for the rest of the month.

Murdered: Soul Suspect – June 3, 2014

Murdered: Soul Suspect puts you in the ghostly body of Detective Ronan O'Connor who was thrown out of a window and shot to death while pursuing the Bell Killer serial-killer. Stuck somewhere in limbo, Ronan must complete whatever unfinished business is preventing him from crossing over "the bridge."

EA Sports UFC – June 17, 2014

EA Sports UFC is the latest entry in, well, EA Sports Ultimate Fighting Championship game series. This year, EA Sports wants you to "feel the fight." That means, setting a new bar for character likness and emotion in gaming, ever-changing goals and fight plans for fighters based on their real-life tendencies and each fight situation, full body deformation, real-time exertion, precision movement, dynamic striking and tons more. Talk is cheap though. See for yourself by playing the EA Sports UFC demo, now available on PS4.

Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark – June 24, 2014

Serving as a follow-up to both the upcoming Transformers live-action film and Activision'sTransformers: War for Cybertron and Transformers: Fall of Cybertron titles, Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark jumps worlds and factions as it weaves the tale of the hunt for an ancient relic as powerful as the Matrix of Leadership – the Dark Spark. In the game, you'll be able to switch between the heroes of the Autobots adn the nefarious Decepticons throughout the single-player campaign.

Valiant Hearts: The Great War – June 25, 2014

Valiant Hearts: The Great War is a puzzle-adventure game from Ubisoft. Set during World War I, it attempts to share the experience of World War I with a younger generation who may not be as familiar with the deadly conflict, also known as the "Great War." The game takes place between 1914 and 1918 and tells the story of five characters: Emile, a French farmer who becomes a prisoner of war when looking for his son-in-law. Freddie, an American soldier fighting in honor of his fallen wife. Ana, a field medic — a "rose in the trenches — surrounded by blood and gore. George, a British aviator who lied about knowing how to fly. The last is Karl, a German soldier lost in the trenches alone and sick with his love for Emile's daughter Marie. These five characters are accompanied through the horrors of war by a canine separated from its owner during an artillery attack. The dog not only helps the characters survive, but also guides players through action sequences and puzzles.

In addition to these blockbuster titles, there's a ton of other indie games headed to PS4, including:

  • 1001 Spikes – June 3
  • War Thunder – June 3
  • Worms Battlegrounds – June 3
  • The Swapper – June 24
