Aside from the awesome games coming to PS Plus in the month of May, free for subscribers, there are also a bunch of great titles coming that you can save all that saved up cash on.
The PS4 has a bit of new as well as a bit of old when it comes to May's releases. The new is highlighted by Wolfenstein: The Old Blood, Project CARS, Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Magicka 2. The old comes from games like Ultra Street Fighter 4 and Legend of Kay HD. But just because they're old, doesn't mean they're not worth a second look.
Let's get into the releases and check out what's good.
Wolfenstein: The Old Blood
If you were a fan of Bethesda's Wolfenstein: The New Order, then you have a lot to look forward to with the standalone expansion, The Old Blood.
In The Old Blood, you'll once again step into the shoes of B.J. Blazkowicz but this time the story chronologically takes place before the events of The New Order. As BJ, you'll take part in two separate campaigns. One will take you through Castle Wolfenstein in order to find coordinates to a hidden Nazi compound, and the second will take you to that compound to confront a Nazi archeologist.
Project CARS
If you've been following the work of Sightly Mad Studios' Project CARS over the years, you'll more than forgive the three delays we had to go through. And while I would have loved to play this game in November of 2014, hopefully the delay comes with a lot of good optimization.
Project CARS will features loads of cars and tracks to race across in, as well as some great realistic physics, making it a premiere racing sim.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
It just might be one of the most anticipated games of this year, and with good reason. CD Projekt RED is known for their mad attention to detail and devotion to their craft, so it's not surprising that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will have a breathtaking realistic world filled with a myriad of sidequests to partake in, monsters to hunt and secrets to discover.
Magicka 2
The first Magicka title from Arrowhead Games was a clever little game that had some insanely fun magic combining mechanics, albeit with some awkward controls. Hopefully Magicka 2 fixes this issue, though it does promise more spells, more co-op and of course, more death.
Ultra Street Fighter 4
Let's face it, outside of Mortal Kombat X and Guilty Gear Xrd, there aren't that many fighting games on the PS4. Enter the definitive edition of Capcom's mainline fighting game with Ultra Street Fighter 4.
With 44 characters to choose from, updated modes and tweaks, it's the closest you'll get to the perfect Street Fighter experience.
Legend of Kay HD
This game came completely out of left field. It's a remaster of the 10 year old PS2 classic, which features a cat martial artist and some truly great platforming and combat.
It's been a while since I've last played Legend of Kay, but I'm pretty pumped to actually play this game again on my PS4.
