According to popular Japanese gaming site Game Watch, Sega has announced Puyo Puyo (AKA Puyo Pop) for the Nintendo Wii.
Puyo Pop is played by racing a computer-controlled opponent on the screen next to you and you must clear as many blocks as possible. The quicker you are, the more blocks drop into your opponent’s playing area. Sega will be introducing the new “Puyo Puyo Together” mode, where two players can play on the same field and work together to guide falling pieces into place.
One of the new modes will be called “Remote Controller Puyo Puyo.” This mode is played using two Wii-motes. One controller will be used for rotating the pieces while the other is used for moving them. Sega wants multiple players to play this mode but it is possible to play single-player.
The game is set to release on July 26 in Japan.
