Remember when I said Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 would come to Xbox 360 and PS3?

Yesterday, as many of you are aware by now, Activision confirmed that Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is also coming to Xbox 360 and PlayStation.

But what many of you don’t know, I said that this exact thing would be happening just two weeks ago. Boom, real journalist, just like my buddies over on Polygon and Kotaku.

Now normally I wouldn’t boast about this sort of thing, but seeing as how the video game industry is so full of egotistical jackholes vying for a moment in the spotlight, I figured I’d take a moment to pat myself on the back because that’s apparently something writers feel the need to do these days — constantly remind their readers “I got this first!”

You see, whereas the focus should be on the games, and spotlighting the developers who make them, today’s games media would rather the news be about themselves. Like petulant children crying for mommy and daddy’s approval, they feel the need to point out every little bit of detail they got right. They attempt to put themselves on a pedestal as the mightiest of mighty game writers.

So here I am, with E3 just days away, reminding you that I got this first. And what’s more, I didn’t need some “leaked” documents or “source familiar with the project” to tell me. I came to the conclusion that Black Ops 3 would be released for Xbox 360 and PS3 (with the help of other developers) like I’m sure many of you did, with gut instinct and common sense.

In conclusion, I can’t believe it’s been two-and-a-half weeks since I posted this. Interestingly, a source told me yesterday that the Black Ops 3 last-gen announcement would be this week. I didn’t believe them, but it’s true.
