They say everything is better when you’ve got a friend in tow, and this is true for everything from cooking to killing zombies. Capcom’s Resident Evil 5 would probably be the best game ever made if it let me cook online with other gamers, but if it’s any consolation, it’ll at least let me indulge myself in the latter option with a fully-fledged online co-op mode, a first for the survival horror series.
“Like Gears, the entirety of Resident Evil 5 features jump in/jump out gameplay with the AI taking over the reigns of our mysterious female mercenary when you’re playing alone,” GamesRadar and Xbox World revealed today.
Other new features include a dodging ability for Chris that apparently resembles the system in God Hand (ie: dodge left, right, duck forward or back using the right analog stick), the ability to blind fire around a corner, and the return of the much-loved Mercenaries mini-game — a bonus mode in RE4 that many will admit they spent more time playing than the game proper.
So while we might not know exactly when it’s coming out, we can rest assured that Capcom’s not just sitting around, twiddling their thumbs, doing nothing while we wait, and wait, and wait.
