Wii-owning European fans of Rock Band have likely been wondering when the franchise’s second installment would be hitting their shores, especially considering it has been available in North America since December 2008. However, it appears that the wait is over, as Harmonix, MTV Games, and EA have confirmed that Rock Band 2 will be released for the Wii in Europe this October for £29.99.
The game will initially feature over 100 songs, but in order to make up for the long wait, Harmonix is promising that 250 songs will be available on-disc and as DLC by early 2010. The game will retain the features we know and love, such as Online World Tour, Battle-of-the-Band Tournaments, and the Drum Trainer, and also can be played with all Rock Band and The Beatles: Rock Band controllers and most Guitar Hero controllers.
However, it appears the disc is all Europe will be getting, as the press release makes no mention of any instrument bundles to be made available.
