The official trailer for Avengers: Infinity War dropped today, bringing a much darker tone than most Avengers movies have a drop of. It's clear that Thanos is extremely powerful, there's a point in the trailer where he punches Iron Man with his weak hand (ie the non-gauntlet wearing hand) and Iron Man flies back like some kind of pinata.
This movie will bring the reckoning to plenty of Marvel heroes and elicit plenty of tears (mostly due to the film's rating allowing folks to bring their kids, who probably idolized those heroes, and will now get to watch them die). The question is, which heroes are going to kick the bucket?
Let's place our bets!

With the untitled Avengers 4 on the way and a third Guardians in the Galaxy in the works, there are some definite survivors of Infinity War, but that doesn't mean there won't be plenty of deaths.
As far as the Guardians go, I'll place my bets on Dave Bautista's Drax taking the ultimate plunge. He loves to fight and prove his might, which is what will probably kill the Hulk, you know, the Hulk that never got his own Hulk movie. If Drex doesn't kick the bucket, Gamora might, this would prompt a comic book arc starring Nebula to occur, but will also give room for Star-Lord to get nice and angry and fight the good fight against Thanos, besides Nebula and the rest of the crew.
The trailer shows Vision getting his lifeblood, an Infinity Stone, ripped off of his face, which suggests he's dead. While that seems like too easy of a guess, it would certainly build up for Scarlet Witch to do some killing.
Plenty of Asgardians will die, as we can see by Loki walking over their dead bodies and holding the Tesseract. Proxima will die, Black Widow will die, and Loki will die.
Oh, Captain America will die too… His contract is up.
Avengers 4 will probably have its own deaths, which will lead us into the era of the 'new' Avengers, who will probably be seeing their solo films soon.

I see a number of things happening here: The Avengers are divided into two teams, a cosmic team that goes to defeat Thanos among the stars which is made up of Spider-Man, Iron Man, The Guardians of the Galaxy, Thor, and maybe Vision. The ground team, which stays on Earth to protect against the invasion from Thanos’ minions is made up of The Hulk, Captain America, Black Panther, Falcon, and War Machine amongst others.
There will be a number of casualties but the ones I see biting the bullet are Captain America, Vision, War Machine, and Hulk.
Hulk's death will probably arise after his attempts to go toe to toe with Thanos and underestimate his power. Big green Banner will get absolutely pulverized by Thanos’ pure strength combined with the power of the Infinity Gauntlet.
After we see a relationship between Vision and Scarlett Witch reach a point of true romance, beyond flirtation, Vision will have his Infinity Stone painfully pried from his forehead.
War Machine will die in the Battle of Wakanda, which can be seen in the trailer He will probably get taken down by one of Thanos’ henchmen in The Black Order, and Falcon will probably die here as well.
Cap will probably die in the finale of the film, in one last heroic act to help save Earth and defend his friends and family, The Avengers.

The likeliest candidates for death in 'Infinity War' are Vision, right at the top of the list. Thanos literally has to rip the Mind Gem from his face, which is the thing that gave him life in the first place. Not to mention, his death would galvanize Scarlet Witch into a superpowered nuke and be one of their "big guns", so to speak. After that, War Machine is probable considering the Civil War should've killed him, not because we want him dead, but because that movie needed some deaths altogether, so we're pretty emotionally prepared for him to go. Captain America is pretty possible keeping in mind Chris Evans' contract is apparently up and his obligatory trilogy is done. With Bucky sitting on the sidelines ready to don that mantle, it'd be perfect to bring in the new Cap. Finally, Hawkeye and/or Wong. Both have become very likable and their deaths would be seriously devastating, without affecting the MCU in a grand scheme kind of way.

I personally think there will be a lot of deaths, but some of those are up in the air. If we're going by the comics, then there are literally tons of death at the hands of Thanos, even major characters. So while I may not guess some, here is my list of what I'd call, definitely dead.
Keep in mind, Kevin Feige has said that Avengers 4 will have a hard ending. Meaning that after Avengers 4 in 2019, we're going to get a new series of films with a new running storyline and presumably a "new" set of Avengers. Because of that, Hollywood contracts and actor's ages, all of which need to be taken into account, I think it's safe to assume Captain America bites the dust. Though he may make a cameo in 4, when he's brought back to life, for all intents and purposes Chris Evans' Captain dies in Infinity War. His contract is up, but I'm sure they can re-negotiate a cameo for A4. Also on the list, the humans. The two mortal, flesh and blood characters with no costume, gear, armor or ability that can keep them alive, Black Widow and Hawkeye. Hell, I wouldn't doubt they die together, reaching out and touching hands or fingers. Both dead.
Falcon is all but dead as well, the man just has wings on his back and with Thanos' army, let alone the strength himself, yeah, he's dead. I believe we can all agree, Vision, is a lock to die. The trailer for Infinity War clearly shows Loki (via his staff) tapping on the forehead of Vision, removing the Mind Stone. The Mind Stone is what gave vision the ability to take form and gave him life, so when it's removed, he's all but confirmed to be dead. It's also entirely possible that all the characters die with the exception of a few key players, namely the person who is responsible for defeating Thanos, who we've seen already. Assuming the movies follow that plot point, [redacted] is a safe bet to live. If you wish to ruin the surprise, you can Google the answer.
Anyway, those are my picks for who I think are a lock to die, assuming not everyone dies.
