During a recent interview with French gaming site JVN (via GT Planet), Gran Turismo series creator and CEO of Polyphony Digital Kazunori Yamauchi spoke of what players could expect of the connectivity between the upcoming Gran Turismo for the PlayStation Portable and the upcoming Gran Turismo 5 for the PlayStation 3.
“If [the user] unlocks a car in Gran Turismo PSP,” he reveals, “it will also be available in Gran Turismo 5.”
A release date for Gran Turismo 5 has not yet been announced, however, but the above snippet has led PlayStation LifeStyle to make their own prediction. Yamauchi stated in June that the title is ready to go and able to be released “at any time,” making a holiday release seem likely.
They reinforce this with Yamauchi citing the plans to implement the connectivity as one cause for the game’s delays. With Gran Turismo for PSP now due on October 1st, is a holiday release for GT5 imminent?
