While Nintendo has said that it plans to release its new handheld, the Dual Screen this holiday season, new rumors suggest an exact date.
That date: November 30th, 2004.
The date is said to have came “from EGM sources,” and the rumors have been spreading throughout gaming forums including our own.
When we contacted Nintendo of America, however, they did not confirm the date. Nintendo’s representative told us the following:
“Actually, this is the first time that I’ve heard a specific release date given for the Nintendo DS, as we’ve always stated that it will be released worldwide before the end of the year. I believe the first place we’ll unveil the Nintendo DS will be E3 2004, and perhaps a date will be given then. Many developers seem interested in the two screens and the dual processors, so hopefully it’ll be as successful as our Game Boy product line.”
