Rumor: Nintendo to Unveil “All-new Game with All-new Characters” at E3 2008

Tired of waiting for that new core gamer’s IP from Nintendo that everyone, including you, just craves? The wait could be nearly over if this rumor is to be believed. During a recent E3 expectations article on GamePro’s website, the magazine’s senior editor, Sid Shuman, let loose an exciting rumor. “I’ve heard strong rumors that Nintendo is going to unveil an all-new game with all-new characters [at E3],” he said. Although we don’t happen to have any inside sources of our own on this one, perhaps this is the title Reggie Fils-Aime recently hinted at.

I absolutely want a new IP from Nintendo. I’ve been saying so for years. However, I have to admit it’s a bit sad that a rumor that Nintendo is unveiling a new core IP is such a big headline. Has it really been that long since Nintendo released a high-quality original IP for the hardcore? Yeah, it has.
