Rumor: SEGA vs. Capcom to Debut at TGS?

An interesting rumor from Protodude’s Rockman Corner. Considering how many of the Mega Man 9 rumors from that spot seemed to come true, this has me rather intrigued.

Earlier today, I received word from an anonymous source that both Capcom and SEGA are set to unveil a cross over title during the Tokyo Game Show festivities dubbed, “SEGA vs. Capcom: Great Clash Generation.”

The game is described as a “hybrid RPG-fighting game” coming out on the Nintendo DS in Q1 2009 with a “likely” PSP port later in the new year.

SEGA is apparently heading the game’s development alongside Dimps. Capcom however will take on the role of supervisor.

Character rosters went unnamed, though it’s said that Sonic and Mega Man are a given.

It’s funny; just the other day, I was on the Capcom*Unity forums, and I made a suggestion about a SEGA vs. Capcom title. And now comes this rumor. Of course, my idea was a pure arcade-style fighting game, but still. Eerie timing, if true.
