Early on we had a pretty good experience in World of Warcraft's latest expansion, Warlords of Draenor.
We didn't run into any server issues until the afternoon/evening after Warlords released – turns out there was a DDoS attack. Blizzard took servers down to run some maintenance this morning to address the stability of the game – hopefully things chilled out since then.
If servers are still a bit wacky for you, there are options for you. You could do a couple things that would be useful or you could do a couple things to pass the time. If you have any ideas, let us know in the comments below. This list was inspired by our own interactions with servers lagging (or a friends lengthy wait in queue).
- Take the trash out: It's been sitting there waiting for you to take it out, but you buckled down to playWarlords of Draenor and said, 'The next time I leave the house, I'll take you out.' You lied to your own garbage, nice.
- Clean up your gaming area: The scattered paper, the wrappers, the cups and the plates. We've all been there, but if you don't clean it up a roach might become your new gaming buddy.
- Update your PC's driver: Press Windows + R, type in DxDiag. After the DirectX Diagnostic Tool loads, click the Display tab. The video card's name and manufacturer are listed there – go to the manufacturers website and install the latest update.
- Binge watch a show on Netflix: Leave your comfort zone, watch a Korean drama or watch your favorite series. Either way this is some free Netflix time.
- Click around the Battle.net launcher: It makes things go faster, I swear.
- Cry: Let it all out.
Bonus: Research the class that you boosted to 90. If you picked a healer or a tank and get booted from a dungeon because you didn't do your research, it's not my fault (I will have no faith in tanks or healers that I encounter henceforth).
Bonus 2: Alt + F4 makes the game work the fastest.
