SIXAXIS Wins An Emmy

It appears the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has bestowed the SIXAXIS controller with the honor of an Emmy. Yes, the modified Dual Shock 2 controller walked away with the Technology and Engineering award. The SIXAXIS makes use of motion sensing technology to change the way video games are played. Jack Tretton, CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment America said about the award, “The overwhelming consumer demand and critical acclaim for PS3 is testament of the platform’s strength and the industry’s desire for a true next-generation entertainment system.”

This is sure to strike up controversy as it seems the Nintendo Wii Remote was not recognized for having the same capabilities and even surpassing the SIXAXIS in some technical areas such as 3D movement. On top of the Emmy award, the PlayStation 3 has been taking away more awards at the Consumer Electronics Show. Stick with AMN PS3 as more game consoles win all sorts of awards.
