Sony Japan President Says PS3 Price Cut is

In an article originally from Tokyo’s Daily Yomiuri Shinbun, Sony Japan President Ryoji Chubachi was quoted as stating that Sony “does not rule out the possibility of lowering the price” in regards to PlayStation 3.

It should be noted that the company has not stated officially that there will be a price drop on the console. However, such a comment fuels the already rampant speculation of just such an event occurring. The comment comes after the layoffs of many employees worldwide, as well as after the announcement of a $499 (USD) Blu-ray Disc player that is set to ship very soon.
