Sony Seeks “Ultimate Gran Turismo Fan”

Sony is looking for the “Ultimate Gran Turismo fan,” and have reason to believe it could be you. “And if you are a true GT fan,” they note on the PlayStation.Blog, “you drooled over the custom GT-branded helmets and Alpinestars racing suits featured in the videos. Well, now’s your chance to win your very own suit, helmet and gloves!”

If that weren’t enough, winners will also receive the recently-released Gran Turismo PSP Entertainment Pack, which features a Mystic Silver PSP-3000 system, the game, a PlayStation Network voucher for The Italian Job movie, a 2GB Memory Stick, another voucher for the exclusive white Chevrolet Corvette ZR1, and another voucher for Sony Music Pass, which gets you ten free songs. That’s quite a haul.

So, what does one have to do to win?

Not much, actually. All they want is a video, essay, or slideshow presentation which simply proves you are worthy of the title of “Ultimate Gran Turismo fan,” and they say “how you prove that is up to you.”

First place winner gets the suit with the gloves and helmet, as seen and noted above, the Gran Turismo PSP pack, and a Gran Turismo poster autographed by Rhys Millen and Tanner Foust. If you prove to not be as ultimate as the winner, you might still get… well, everything in the first prize, but the helmet is open-faced instead of visored, and the whole getup was worn by Tanner Foust.

Third place doesn’t do so bad, either. No suit, helmet, or even gloves, but you get the PSP pack and the signed poster.

After that? The remaining seven just get signed posters, and probably a “thanks for playing.”

To enter, email your video (up to 2 minutes), essay (1 page) or slideshow presentation to [email protected] by midnight PST on November 22 with “GT PSP Contest Entry” in the subject line. Visit here for official entry rules. Contest open to US residents only.

…yeah, that last part figures.

Anyway, supposing you won… what would you do with the suit, helmet, etc.? Would you wear it whenever you drove your car? Place it behind glass in a display in your room or house? Hang it in your closet or fold it up in a box? Tell us in the comments below, as we are both bored and curious.
