Or so would seem the case, as the new Famitsu states that the game will feature tag team elements in order to perform combos, based upon a meter which depletes as characters proceed to, and I quote Joystiq on this, “test the bonds of friendship.”

But according to some CAG translators, it’s still not known to what extent the game may utilize “character swapping,” as the article only refers to the feature in the context of single-player mode, wherein the “teammates may suddenly join and leave at the end of the battle.”

Hopefully, we’ll hear more leading up to the game’s release.
