Tatsunoko vs. Capcom Producer Says “If You Make a Good Game, People Will Buy It”

We’ve seen the Director General of Capcom France seemingly write off the Wii audience, while Capcom USA’s Senior Director of Communications and Community sought to determine who it is. Now, it’s time for one of the actual game developers to have their say.

Destructoid approached Ryota Niitsuma, Producer of Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars (among other Wii titles) and asked what he thought was the best design process for a Wii title. He told them that “First, he tries to think of a good idea for a game. Then, if it looks like it’s going to be a Wii title, then he tries to think of ways to use the Wii’s unique features to the game’s advantage.”

The reason he goes about it this way, rather than starting “from the ground up with tons of specific gimmicks and tricks” is because he says “good games will sell, regardless of what console their on.”

As eager as people are to play Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, which was released today, one might think he is on to something.
