The Indie Megabooth is dominating PAX East 2015

Where are all of the triple A games?

Apparently, Sony and Microsoft weren't kidding when they said they were committed to indie games on the PS4 and Xbox One. While Microsoft has a booth at PAX East 2015 — showing off Halo 5, Battlefield Hardline, Smite, and a few other fairly large games — Sony is noticeably absent; however, both are sponsors of the PAX Indie Megabooth, a giant section of the show floor dedicated to indie games.

Outside of a few titles, like Blizzard's Overwatch or EA's Battlefield Hardline, there's not much in terms of blockbuster games. There's a real shift towards the indie scene and it's definitely noticeable here on the show floor.

That's not a bad thing either. If the last few years have taught us anything, with Sony's and Microsoft's push towards indie acceptance, it's that even a studio of just a few developers can push out a game that can stand side-by-side, or even above, a game with hundreds of developers. Money isn't everything when it comes to games, and simply put, the risk of a triple A game is just too much for many publishers at this time; sometimes you just need a unique style or an innovative idea. This year's PAX East 2015 Indie Megabooth was filled with booth. Although the above video is just a quick booth walkthrough, we will have previews of some of the more interesting titles we got to see.
