The Weekly Drop for PS4, Xbox One, and Wii U (2/17/15)

After much anticipation, Sony is ready to unleash its first blockbuster exclusive of 2015 this week. But while The Order: 1886 is probably the biggest game to release on PS4 this week, there's quite a few other games looking to grab their share of the limelight. This includes Dead or Alive 5 Last Round and Kirby and the Rainbow Curse.

Dead or Alive 5 Last Round – Xbox One (Xbox 360), PS4 (PS3) – February 17, 2015

As the third and final updated version of 2012’s Dead or Alive 5, Last Round features all of the content from 2013’s Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate (five additional characters, gameplay system tweaks and expansions, and features from the Vita’s Dead or Alive 5 Plus). In total, we’re looking at 32 characters plus two new characters: Honoka and Raidou. There’s also two new stages to battle on.

Other improvements specific to the Xbox One and PS4 versions include upgraded graphics, running in 1080p at 60 frames per second. The new Soft Engine is also designed to depict “softness” of characters’ bodies.

Q*bert Rebooted – PS4 (PS3, Vita) – February 17, 2015

Q*bert Rebooted contains a port of the classic 1982 arcade game along with a new game mode that uses hexagonal shapes instead of cubes, allowing for all-new level designs. Other new features include time and score challenges, new enemies with their own behavior patterns, new playable characters, power-ups, traps and gem collecting.

The Order: 1886 – PS4 – February 20, 2015

The Order: 1886 is a narrative-driven, third-person shooter that transports players to a unique vision of Victoria-Era London where man uses advanced technology to battle a powerful and ancient foe. As a member of an elite order of Knights, you’ll join a centuries-old war against a powerful threat that will determine the course of history forever.

What makes The Order: 1886 so intriguing, though, is its presentation. With full performance capture for characters and scenes, seamless transitions between action and story sequences, and a replication of the nuances of actual motion picture cameras and lenses (you know, that whole 1920×800 resolution in 2.40:1 aspect ratio), The Order: 1886 offers a filmic vision unlike that of which we’ve seen in a game ever before.

Kirby and the Rainbow Curse – Wii U – February 20, 2015

Kirby and the Rainbow Curse is a follow-up to 2005’s Kirby: Canvas Curse, which was released for the Nintendo DS. Gameplay for Kirby and the Rainbow Curse is in the same vein as Canvas Curse, in that players use the Wii U Gamepad to help Kirby, who is stuck in ball form, move across the level by drawing rainbow colored lines on the touchscreen to guide him. The mains tory offers 28 levels with a challenge mode that boasts over 40. Kirby and the Rainbow Curse also supports three amiibo figures: Kirby, Meta Knight,a nd King Dedede. Kirby and the Rainbow Curse was also one of our top 10 must-buy Wii U exclusives of this year, so hop on it!
