While we're still a week away from one of March's biggest weeks, this week is no slouch either. In fact, March in general is just a great month for gaming. We've already got games like Helldivers, OlliOlli 2, and the surprisingly good Resident Evil Revelations 2.
This week we got some notable titles like Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number, and Sid Meier's Starships, so you have something for those that just want to go on a murder spree either on planet Earth, or anywhere in the vastness of space.
In any case, let's take a look at what this week's got to offer.
Rogue has already graced the last-gen consoles last year, but PC players ended up getting the shaft. No more! Assassin's Creed Rogue will finally be available on PC, bringing it's story of Assassins versus Templars story where you now play on the opposite side.
The Atelier series just keeps on going, bringing along its charming anime visuals and focus on alchemy gameplay. While it's the third game in the "Dusk" series, it's actually the 16th installment of the franchise. Holy crap!
If you enjoy JRPG combat, mixing various components together to create new items, and especially if you've played the previous two Dusk games, you have a lot to look forward to.
Cities in Motion was a rather interesting take on the city management genre, that focused primarily on transport. Instead of trying to build a city from the ground up, players were in charge of bringing public transportation to major cities.
Cities: Skylines however shifts gears and is now more akin to Cities XL or SimCity. Players will now be able to build up a city from the ground up in a complete sandbox experience.
Dante is stylishly slashing his way to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, bringing glorious 1080p and 60fps gameplay along with him. However, it's not just the core experience. All of the previously released DLC, including Vergil's Downfall campaign, will be included, so you're really getting the definitive experience here.
This little indie game proved that just because you're on a rampage to take down criminals, doesn't mean you can't have a meaningful story coupled with some truly brilliant gameplay. Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number will hopefully have yet another gripping storyline, and continue to push the amazing gameplay to new heights.
This week we get yet another episode in the fantastic Resident Evil 2 Revelations. We won't get into much spoilers here, but Claire and Moira as well as Barry and Natalia have already had some truly horrifying encounters, introducing some of the most unique gameplay elements for a survival horror game.
Of course with each new release we get more Raid Mode characters, which happens to be a beast of its own, offering a crazy amount of gameplay variety across 200 missions.
I honestly don't know much about Ori and the Blind forest, besides it looking extremely gorgeous, and that it's most likely going to make me cry. But that actually makes me want to play it even more!
The game will be a platformer, where players will have to assume the role as Ori, the white spirit with the guidance of Sein, who will also assist in attacking enemies.
You've conquered civilizations across the galaxy, now build your own starships and conquer some more. Starships will focus less on the civilization aspect, and more on taking your customized ships across the galaxy and unleashing them on various alien beings. You'll make allies and enemies and engage in tactical hex-based combat.
If you've ever played a game and thought to yourself, "This game would be better if it had a steampunk Abe Lincoln in it," then Code Name S.T.E.A.M. might just be the game for you. Developed by Intelligent Systems, the folks behind the fantastic Fire Emblem series, STEAM will revolve around an alternate timeline where characters like Tiger Lily and John Henry team up with Abe Lincoln to fight off an alien menace with awesome steampunk gear.
