The Witness: The Keep (Platform Activation) Walkthrough

The Witness is an open-world, exploration-puzzle game, offering mystery and intrigue that is answered only by exploration and solving two-dimensional puzzles. Sometimes the answer to a puzzle can be found in the puzzle itself, and sometimes you need to explore your environment.

Note: While we encourage everyone to at least try and complete The Witness without the use of guides, we understand that sometimes frustration can set in. Before spoiling it for yourself, take a break and return at a later time. If it still doesn't click, feel free to use the guide below.

The Keep Walkthrough (Hedge Maze)

The Keep laser is located inside of the giant castle area in The Witness. There are actual two "maze" type puzzles in this area, but you only need to complete one in order to activate the laser. This walkthrough is for the Platform Activation Maze portion of the Keep puzzle. It requires you to solve four different mazes; however, you don't actually solve them on the panel. Instead, you must draw the line by walking across the a series of panels and drawing the line yourself. If correct, the gate to the next panel will open.Hints: (if you don't want to complete spoil it):

• The rules for each panel still apply, but you have to actually step on the panels to "draw" the line.
• Make use of the side paths and blocks in between the platforms to avoid obstacles.

Maze 1: Draw a path to collect the black dots.

Maze 2: Draw a path to separate the black and white dots.

Maze 3: Draw a path that would form those two shapes.

Maze 4: Draw a path that would draw those two shapes (they are a mirrored reflection).

Laser Activation: Look down at the paths you drew below and use them as a guide to complete the final panel. You're basically tracing what you activated.
