Three New Trademarks For Wii?

Based on a recent report by popular German gaming website Gamefront, Nintendo of Japan has registered three new trademarks pertaining to their upcoming next-gen console Wii.

Although the news has yet to be confirmed by Nintendo themselves, the intrigue regarding these newly announced trademarks have been circulating the internet rapidly.

The first trademark, “WiiPointer,” could have something to do with the Wii-mote of the system — possibly an official name change — or a new function entirely. “WiiCulture” suggests a possible name or service for Nintendo’s online system, currently named Connect24.

The most curious of the three trademarks is the reported “!!M”, which ironically symbolizes the word Wii upside-down. It is currently speculative talk that this trademark could be the name of Nintendo’s very-much rumored instant-messaging service, that might be included with Nintendo’s online service.

There are still no details on what these names mean, as the Big N has yet to lay down the official word.

AMN will have more as soon as it becomes available.
