With the 11th anniversary of Bandai Namco’s Tales role-playing series being celebrated this year, a long way has come since the first title, Tales of Phantasia, released for the Super Nintendo in 1995.
As predicted, the company revealed several new titles in the Tales lineup via their official website earlier today.
Not surprisingly, all three of the new titles will be coming to the Sony PSP. These titles include Tales of Phantasia: Full Voice Edition, Tales of The World: Radiant Mythology, and a PlayStation 2 port of Tales of Destiny. Furthermore, it was indicated that a port of Tales of Destiny 2 will be coming to the PSP in 2007.
Tales of Phantasia: Full Voice Edition, incorporates some characters from several Game Boy Advance and Sony PlayStation versions. What makes the title different from the original is that the PSP version will now include voicing for the entirety of the story. In addition, battles have been upgraded with three players now being able to participate simultaneously instead of two. The game is set for a September 7 release on the PSP.
Radiant Mythology will now continue the elements of the Flex Range Linear Motion Battle system from Tales of the Abyss. The spin-off title will allow gamers to make customizable characters as well.
Most intriguingly, the Tales of Destiny PS2 to PSP update will feature revamped 3D graphics throughout the whole game. Even at that, battles have been nicely tweaked as well with a new system called the Aerial Linear Motion Battle.
We’ll have more on these titles soon.
