Tony Hawk Says Next Tony Hawk “More Tonyistic, More InterHawktive”

Sorry, after Kotaku’s headline, I couldn’t resist. But what I really wanted was “Tony Hawk Says Next Tony Hawk Tony Hawk Tony Hawk.”

Anyway, the LA Times decided to bust some celebrity, and apparently Hawk was available, apparently re-gifting fruitcakes. C’mon, everyone does it… In any case, they wound up talking about the next game to bear the skating legend’s name.

Titled “Adrenaline” and due from the Activision machine next Fall, Hawk says his involvement in this one is greater than that of the past five games. Could this help Activision edge out EA’s Skate franchise?

Q: How involved are you creatively in the development of the games?

Hawk: Since the very first one, I play through every one. The developers send me updates of the game. I have a testing unit so I can play the games as they’re being developed. I give them feedback the same day.

Q: What are you working on now?

Hawk: We’re working on a new type of game, and I’ve been even more involved in this one than I have been in the last five games. It’s a real departure for us. It’s a whole new direction for us. And it’s going to be way more realistic and way more interactive. I’m really proud of it. I can’t tell you much more about it, except that it will come out in the fall 2009. — <a href="http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/technology/2008/12/tony-hawk-inter.html

I wonder what else is planned… Wii Balance Board support, maybe?
