Year after year, E3 is known as the premier show to unveil brand new games and blockbuster sequels. It's one of the only times when even the more casual gaming fans tune in, along with the hardcore to see what gets announced.
Last year was a pretty solid year for game announcements, and of course we're eager to find out more. Some of the games on our list were announced two years ago, and have been missing in action ever since.
So without further ado, let's take a look at our list and climb aboard the hype train.
Mirror's Edge 2
Sadly absent from last year's show, Mirror's Edge 2 debuted its first trailer at EA's Press Conference at E3 2013. We got a first glimpse at some parkour gameplay and have learned since that the game will be a prequel to Mirror's Edge and will focus a lot more on Faith and the Runners, giving them a greater purpose. With a supposed release of early 2016, we should very much expect to see a better look at the game at this year's E3.
Tom Clancy's The Division
Another game originally announced at E3 2013, which has since then had a numerous delays. The Division will task you with trying to recover New York City after it collapses due to a disease outbreak. Players will have to re-establish various facilities along the city to ensure the safety of its citizens. As of right now, The Division is scheduled to release in early 2016.
Star Wars Battlefront
We already know that EA has gameplay footage in store for us during their press conference, and we can't wait to see it. We got to see slight glimpses of it through their teases, but man I can't to actually see this game in action. While it won't have any space combat, sadly, DICE stated that they want to make the most authentic Star Wars game to date. Let's hope that's true!
Mass Effect
Aside from a few concept art pieces and a glimpse behind-the-scenes, we don't know much about the next Mass Effect. However, if the leaked survey is to be believed, Bioware has some big plans for the Mass Effect universe. Here's to hoping that at least a trailer gets dropped during one of the press conferences.
Scalebound
Platinum has a near-perfect track record when it comes to their games. With outstanding games like Bayonneta, Wonderful 101, Vanquish and Metal Gear Rising Revengeance, I have very high hopes for this Xbox One exclusive. Did I mention there are dragons? Scalebound will be all about hunting, defeating and also taming dragons. I can't wait to see this game in action, and what better time to show it off than E3.
Crackdown
Phil Spencer has teased a new Crackdown game for a while, with him and his cool Crackdown shirts. Last year, it was made official during the Microsoft press conference and I can't wait to learn more. Cinematic trailers are always nice ice breakers, but seeing Crackdown in action will be the cherry on top.
Star Fox
Shigeru Miyamoto showed off a few games behind closed doors, one of them being a new Star Fox game that he's working on. Very little is known about this particular title except that it utilizes the Wii U gamepad as the ship's cockpit. Fingers crossed to see actual gameplay demos during this year's E3.
Rise of the Tomb Raider
Microsoft shocked everyone when they announced that the next chapter in Lara Croft's reboot, Rise of the Tomb Raider, will be an Xbox exclusive. Exclusivity aside, especially since it's only a timed exclusive, I can't wait to see what the team over a Crystal Dynamics has in store for the next adventure. I absolutely loved the reboot and can't wait to see more.
Let it die
Originally known os Lily Bergamo, which I'm still rather upset about, the game will be completely free-to-play and will feature extreme action gameplay. Death will be a big component in the game, hence the name, and will allow players to appear in other players' worlds upon death. Other than that, we haven't really seen the game in action aside from a few seconds in the first trailer, so we obviously want to see more.
No Man's Sky
This one's a little different because we've actually seen a bunch of gameplay from No Man's Sky. However, I'd like to see some live gameplay of the game. So far, we've only seen pre-recorded footage, which obviously doesn't always give off the most authentic impression. I'd love for Hello Games to take the stage and take us through a typical day in No Man's Sky. No quick cuts, no edits, just pure gameplay. Oh, and a release date would be amazing.
What games are you excited to see at E3 this year? Let us know!
