Ubisoft’s Quarter 3 Financial Report

Ubisoft has released their third-quarter financial statements and they are revised for the prediction of the slow market. The company released that their strong numbers came from the release of Peter Jackson’s: King Kong, and Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones.

“2005 was another successful year,” commented Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot. “We gained additional market share and further strengthened the Ubisoft brand: Prince of Persia is increasingly recognized as the reference for action/adventure games and Peter Jackson’s King Kong: The Official Game of the Movie set new standards of quality, making Ubisoft a must-have partner for license holders. With years of continuous progress behind us, we ranked third independent publisher in Europe in 2005 and fifth in North America. Ubisoft is now established as one of the major players in our industry with highly valuable assets.”

Ubisoft has also announced that they will delay the release of Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Double Agent from the spring of 2006 to September of 2006. The reason that Ubisoft stated was to spend more time to develop the game for the Xbox 360 and all other platforms. For the full fiscal year of 2005/2006, Ubisoft has lowered their expected net revenue down from about $733.6 million (600 million euros) to $648 million (540 million euros).
