While Ubisoft has stated before that they plan to de-throne Electronic Arts as top video game developer, the co-founder and president of Ubisoft says that he is still considering their relationship with EA.
EA has owned 20% of Ubisoft since 2004 and since acquiring this piece of Ubisoft, there has been speculation that EA is planning a hostile take over.
Since then, nothing has come out of the purchase but Yves Guillemot, the co-founder and president of Ubisoft says they have a few options for their future.
“The first option for us is to manage our own company and grow it. The second option is to work with the movie industry, and the third is to merge,” he said. “We think the market is going to grow fast, and we can take a big share of that market, so we don’t have to change the way things are done at the moment.”
