Upcoming Playstation Vita games to get excited for

The Playstation Vita has not sold great, partly because of a subpar post launch game lineup. The initial launch lineup was one of the best I’ve seen a system launch with, but since then it seems like games come out only once or twice a month. With all the doom and gloom surrounding the Playstation Vita, I decided to list some positives. Here are the best Vita games coming out for the remainder of the year.

Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation – Having an Assassin’s Creed game on the go sounds like a dream come true. A massive, open world game ready for exploration and swordfights is perfectly suited for the Playstation Vita. This will be the first “big” game on the Vita, as most other games follow a more linear path. While this game is set in the Assassin’s Creed 3 universe, it focuses on a different main character and different story than the console versions. Having a new story line set in the American Revolution period is reason enough to pick this game up October 30th.

Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale – While this is a port of the PS3 version of the game, having a portable Super Smash Brothers clone on the go would be an awesome addition to the game lineup. The fact that you can play against PS3 users is an added bonus, and the gameplay will be perfect for short gaming experiences on the Vita. This is a “must have” Vita game launching on October 23rd.

Street Fighter X Tekken – If you liked the console version, you’ll enjoy the Vita version more. This is the same version as its PS3/360 counterpart, except this one includes all of the “yet to be released” DLC for free. If you haven’t played this excellent fighting game yet, I would advise you to wait for this version of the game on October 23rd. This game will also support cross-play with PS3, allowing you to play PS3 users over wi-fi and 3G.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified – This could be game that gets the Vita into the hands of gamers everywhere. A portable Call of Duty game can sell the systems that Sony needs for the Vita to be successful. Unfortunately, with a game this important, we haven’t seen anything more than a picture of the game’s name. Even a screenshot of in-game footage can generate the hype the Vita needs to sell systems. Declassified has a rumored release window of the holiday season.

LittleBigPlanet Vita – This is the first version of the popular PS3 franchise on the Vita. While it’s not the first portable version, it’s certainly the best portable iteration. This game will let you take levels from the PS3 game and import them to your Vita. The game will feature the level editor as well, giving you access anywhere to create levels in the LittleBigPlanet universe. The games classic platforming is carried over from its console brethren, making a must have game for any Vita owner.
