Update:
Easy come, easy go.
Capcom has reported that it seems only Japan will be getting this remake, with Capcom Entertainment (US) and Capcom Europe passing on it.
“We are watching the progress on the game, and if it ends up blowing up huge like RE4 Wii did, we’ll evaluate the possibility of bringing it over here and flipping the lingo sos that y’all can read it.”
There’s a reminder that the GameCube version still runs just fine in the Wii, and if you really feel that strongly about it coming here, you can make yourself heard.
Original Story:
Capcom sure knows a sure thing when they see it. After revamping their smash-hit GameCube game Resident Evil 4 for the Wii, they’ve decided to go back to the well– and back to the beginning.
While PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 owners will soon get to bask in the glory of Resident Evil 5, the latest issue of Famitsu reveals that this Summer will see a release of the GameCube-exclusive Resident Evil Zero for the Wii, enhanced controls and all.
Though official details are not yet available, it is suggested that one can play the game one-handed, alluding to the possibility that Capcom may make the game more point-and-click oriented. Famitsu also does the courtesy of noting that RE4 could use the Classic controller, and so that feature may find its way into this title as well.
Kombo will bring you more details as they become available.
