Super Smash Bros. for Wii U will feature Amiibo support. For those unsure of what an Amiibo is, it's essentially Nintendo's answer to NFC toys like Skylanders and Disney Infinity figures. In Smash for example, players can scan their Amiibo in, which will produce a CPU opponent that grows in levels, and learns new techniques from his opponents.
In this particular case, we leveled up our Mario Amiibo to level 50, by pitting him against level 9 CPUs. That means all his tactics and moves will have come from fighting level 9 opponents.
So what would fighting a level 50 Amiibo be like? We put it to the test. Our resident Smash veteran, Danny O'Connell, took up the mantle and tried his hand at defeating Amiibo Mario. Alas, he was unsuccessful, though I should point out that he did win once, but of course that happened to be when we weren't recording (typical).
