While a number of rumors have popped up claiming Nintendo’s massively popular Wii console will be seeing a price drop in the near future, we haven’t seen evidence quite as compelling as what follows. According to a report from Nintendojo, the price drop has been essentially confirmed by Nintendo. “The confirmation was made during a retailer conference call today where a Nintendojo staffer was in attendance,” Nintendojo writer Joshua Johnston reported.
Since we still haven’t received direct confirmation from Nintendo regarding the price cut, we can’t make the $199 price tag official. Looks like we’ll have to sit tight one more week before we can be certain of Nintendo’s plans to undercut the competition.
