WWE Smackdown Vs. Raw 2008 Announced for All Major Consoles and Handhelds

WWE Smackdown Vs. Raw 2008 has been announced for Wii, DS, Xbox 360, PSP and PS3.

“We are extremely pleased with the success of the SmackDown vs. Raw franchise and its continued growth to a widespread audience, particularly in our European markets,” said Bob Aniello, senior vice president, worldwide marketing, THQ. “With the addition of fresh, innovative game play on the Wii, the tremendous capabilities of the PLAYSTATION 3 system and unique handheld experiences for Nintendo DS and wireless devices, gamers can now truly live the life of a WWE Superstar and choose from numerous ways to play.”

WWE Smackdown Vs. Raw 2008 will include several new features including eight different fighting styles which truly separate the strategies and attributes of the different superstars. There will also be a new Struggle Submission System which will rely on different button inputs instead of just button mashing. Also available in the game are ECW superstars, arenas and weapons. Other improvements have been made to the rosters, environmental hotspots, season and Gereral Manager Mode, out-of-ring action, online community support (not confirmed for Wii) and much more.

The DS version will vary significantly from its console based counterparts and will lack many of their features. Other console specific features have not been specified at this time.
