Xbox One game releases for April 2015

Although March was a fairly busy month for Xbox One owners, most of it was a result of third-party blockbuster game releases. If it hadn’t been for Battlefield Hardline, Borderlands: The Handsome Collection, and a few other third-party releases, it would’ve been a fairly quiet month for Xbox. As for April, well, it’s pretty much the same deal.

Here’s a look at what’s coming to Xbox One in April 2015.

Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin – April 7, 2015

Even if you’ve already played Dark Souls II for Xbox 360, Scholar of the First Sin might be worth checking out on Xbox One. Aside from improved graphics and performance, the game offers a different experience by changing enemy placement and even throwing in a few different enemies. Of course, for those unfamiliar, the Souls games aren’t for everyone. The extreme difficulty, while a put off for many, is one of the game’s most intriguing aspects of the entire experience.

Mortal Kombat X – April 14, 2015

NetherRealm Studios’ iconic fighting franchise returns with Mortal Kombat X. New to it are two types of finishers: Quitality, which instantly kills a player if they quit or leave during a multiplayer match; and Faction Kills, finishing moves tied to each of the game’s five factions. There’s also a number of new characters joining the roster, including Cassie Cage, D’Vorah, Jacqui Briggs, Kung Jin, and more. Of course, a number of fan-favorite characters are returning as well, including Liu Kang.

State of Decay: Year-One Survival Edition – April 14, 2015

State of Decay: Year-One Survival Edition brings Undead Labs’ hit zombie survival-fantasy to Xbox One, along with its add-ons Breakdown and Lifeline. Included are new missions, weapons, and extra content, along with improved lighting, textures, animations, and combat mechanics — all in 1080p.

Goat Simulator – April TBA

You’re a goat, and you’re on a rampage. Not much more to say about this one.

Mighty No. 9 – April TBA

Mighty No. 9 is a side-scrolling, action-platformer from the mind of acclaimed developer Keiji Inafune. He’s the creator of Mega Man, for those of you who didn’t already know, so you know this one is gonna be worth it.
